While previewing all men's and women's college teams, as well as presenting an analysis of the NBA's Indiana Pacers and the WNBA's Indiana Fever, Hoosier Basketball is first and foremost an in-depth probe of Indiana high school basketball.

Publisher Garry Donna authors a state roundup of both boys' and girls' basketball, ranking the state's top teams of each as well as four All-State teams.

Donna's Honorable Mention All-State brings the number of players receiving recognition to more than 1000 overall.

Many of the state's top sportswriters and sportscasters contribute to 16 detailed semi-state roundups which highlight each semi-state's top teams and top players, in addition to thumbnail sketches of almost 800 boys' and girls' prep teams.

Each annual issue features a complete schedule section, sponsored by Methodist Sports Medicine Center, in partnership with Clarian Health. Overall (boys and girls high school, men and women's college, Indiana Pacers and Fever) the Methodist Sports Medicine Center Schedule Section includes more than 800 schedules.

Hoosier Basketball has provided coverage of girls' basketball since the 1975-76 season. The last 34 years Hoosier Baksetball has named a list of Top 100 senior girls to be considered for a Top 40 Workout at Marian College (Indianapolis) each March.

Organized by Donna and directed on-court by North Central coach Alan Vickrey, the Top 40 Workout annually enables the top senior players to meet and compete. College coaches, as well as Indiana-Kentucky All-Star game officials, are in attendance to observe.

A consequence of Hoosier Basketball's involvement in girls' basketball was a lobby by Donna for an in-season tournament to showcase four of the state's best girls' teams. A formal proposal to the Indiana High School Athletic Association in September, 1984 resulted in approval by its Executive Board and a subsequent agreement by the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame to host an annual Girls' Classic.

Hoosier Basketball Magazine is available each November through March on most newsstands and at more than 200 high schools across Indiana.
